I am passionate about providing my knowledge of traditional use of herbs for you, your family and your horses.
I am a mother and grandmother who immigrated from Germany to Canada in 2017. Here I found the love of my life and pure happiness on wonderful Vancouver Island.
My beloved horse Luna came with me to Canada. I have been treating Luna for years with herbs to help her to stay healthy and strong.
As a practicing geriatric nurse for 25 years, I have a good knowledge of medicine and how our body systems work.
Growing up in Germany using herbs traditionally, like my grandma, was a wonderful experience. She had a big garden and taught me a lot when I was a kid helping her compound different teas, creams, poultice, canning, and home remedies. I have use a lot of these naturally developed products with my own children and continue to advise them on holistic uses for natural relief of many ailments. My youngest sister is a naturopathic practitioner and a great resource of information to support my learning.
I love being in nature, gardening and taking care of my herb garden. I also love the ocean, going for walks, going camping and I breath in nature as often as possible. We are nothing without nature and the amazing gifts that nature provides for us. Plants connect us all. Its our ancestral right to know how to use herbs to build happiness for ourselves and our communities.
As a community herbalist I can work one-on-one with people and horses, as an herbal educator. This means discussing your state of health and discussing some herbs that may be suited for you.
I earned my education as a Community Herbalist through Pacific Rim College in Victoria BC, and I belong to the British Columbia Herbalist Association which guides my practice and details the services I can offer through Herbal Artwork.
I cannot diagnose conditions, nor claim that my recommendations will "cure/treat" your condition; however, I can work with you as an educator, to introduce, suggest, recommend and advise specific herbs or formulas that may help a condition or support body functions.
I am not a veterinarian or a doctor.
This is one of only a few precious photographs from my childhood. This incredible woman, my Oma, was a loving influence and she is why I have a passion for herbalist remedies.
Here I am at a very young age enjoying the magic of playing in a field of wildflowers with my Oma looking on.
Reach out to schedule a one-on-one visit at your home or barn. Together we can explore how my knowledge may help and work to discover the right herbal combinations to make you, or your horse, feel better. After our first meeting, I will take a few days to do some focussed research so that I can provide you detailed knowledge about specific herbs that may be integrated into a daily routine. I will share my research findings and offer strategies for how to use those herbs. Then it will be up to you to decide whether a Herbal Artwork approach to wellness is right for you. I will be on your side to support a shift to a more natural approach to daily care.
